Dunsmuir is located on the Interstate 5 freeway corridor, about 50 miles north of Redding, CA. Union Pacific Railroad’s main line runs through Dunsmuir, providing a freight option for local businesses.

Amtrak has a station stop in Dunsmuir for service on the main Coast Starlight route, which connects to routes throughout the US.
