About the Chamber

The Chamber of Commerce and Visitors’ Center was established in 1949. It has gone through many changes over the years and exists to assist our members and promote tourism and a vigorous business climate. The Visitors’ Center is available with staffing by volunteers. If you are interested, please drop by and sign up!

The Chamber sponsors several events and committees for which members can volunteer and enhance their business and community. The Dunsmuir Visitors’ Guide, produced by the Chamber, can be obtained at the Visitors’ Center. The guides are mailed around the world in response to website requests. Our website, which is available to all members, receives over 10,000 hits in peak months.

The Chamber also welcomes individuals, non-profits, and service organizations.

Since being established the Chamber has survived through many difficult yet transforming times. This shows the flexibility and commitment to change when change is needed. In 2003 the Chamber was incorporated in California and received a 501(c)(6) non-profit status with federal and state recognition. Also in 2003, the Chamber logo and slogan were service marked with the State of California.

The public is welcome to observe board meetings held on the second Wednesday of the month at 5:30 pm. (subject to change)
