Solga Mural

What do fishermen and dog walkers know about wildflowers? If they’re walking through Tauhindauli Park in Dunsmuir, they’ll see giant supersize flowers adorning the little pump house in a mural by local artist Kim Solga. She designed and painted the native flower guide as a collaboration between the Dunsmuir Recreation District and the McConnell Funds of the Community Foundation of the North State, located in Redding. Local activist Allison Leshefsky was the volunteer grant writer, and the project was approved and managed by Mike Rodriguez, the Recreation District Director. The project commenced in 2021 and was completed this year in 2023.
