Brewophiles, mark your calendars for Saturday, Aug. 17. That’s the date of the 21st State of Jefferson Brewfest, this year being held at Dunsmuir City Park in Dunsmuir, California. This a joint effort by the Dunsmuir Chamber of Commerce and the Dunsmuir Rotary Club, scheduled from 1:00 pm. t0 8:00 p.m.
At least a dozen — so far — representatives from microbreweries have signed up to provide samples of their best works, as well as answers to any questions by attendees on the art of beer production.
Food and other beverages will be offered by vendors. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs, blankets.
To create a fire that needs to be doused with suds, there will also be a chili cook-off with professional and amateur categories. Cash prizes will be awarded for first, second and third places.
Live music will be played by local bands like Soda Creek, Slap Shoe Fly and Doublechief.
Admission to the Brewfest is $25. Cost for the chili cook-off is $15. I you just just want to sit and listen to the music you can do so for free until 5:00 p.m. After that it’s $10. For more information, call the Dunsmuir Chamber of Commerce at 235-2177.
