YAKS started out as a Redding based coffee delivery and roasting company in 2003. Over the next 5 years we expanded to 6 locations and eventually opened up in Mt Shasta. Over the course of the next 10 years we evolved into a full bakery and specialty coffee house. During the 2008 downturn economics drove us to entertain new models and opportunities. It was during this time that YAKS on the 5 was born. With a new focus on artisan burgers and craft beers YAKS began a new chapter. Within the first 2 years we received national attention and were recognized by the popular review site “YELP” as one of the top 100 restaurants in the nation. Since then we have continued to offer to locals and travels a like a burger experience that is one of a kind, all the while, keeping our original coffee house model alive in downtown Mt. Shasta.
