The Saturday after Railroad Days comes the annual outdoor concert in Dunsmuir City Park. This year’s theme is “Puttin’ on the Ritz, A Black and White Affair” and, following the success of 2012’s Gatsby theme, folks are encouraged to dress accordingly. The Palo Alto Chamber Orchestra concert in The Meadow Amphitheatre will follow a gourmet feast cooked and delivered by the Dogwood Diner. This is Dunsmuir Botanical Gardens’ biggest fundraiser, so bring plenty of pocket money for raffle tickets, drinks and auction items. All proceeds from the event go toward maintaining the gardens you will see surrounding you.

Siskiyou Arts Museum will feature Poets and Writers Sharing Their Works on Travel Themes
A private collection of Raymond Howell paintings and graphic artworks opened for public exhibit in the Siskiyou Arts Museum May 10. Long-time Mount Shasta resident Thamar Wherrit, owner of the collection, was the first to view the display, which traces her 50-year friendship with the renowned African American artist. The exhibit will be open to the public in the downtown Dunsmuir museum through July 7. The Siskiyou Arts Museum also offers local artists’ works and artwork for sale in the gift store. Hours are 10 to 5 Thursday through Saturday,
