The Dunsmuir Railroad Depot Historical Society manages the Dunsmuir Museum, the Railroad Display Room, the Shasta Division Archives, as well as depot improvements. The Dunsmuir Railroad Depot has been refurbished to ensure that Amtrak passenger service, the only Siskiyou County stop, continues in this historic railroad community.
In 2012, Dunsmuir was designated TRAINTOWN USA BY Union Pacific.
The DUNSMUIR MUSEUM and its Railroad Display Room are open every 1st and 3rd Saturday of the Month, and during town events, from 10AM to 2PM (weather permitting).
Ride the Dunsmuir Railroad Depot Historical Society’s “Membership Train,” tickets cost $10 per year for the Museum and $10 per year for the Depot Society.
The Depot Society maintains the Amtrak Depot waiting room to Amtrak standards and is the only Amtrak stop in Siskiyou County.
Residents are encouraged to loan or donate Dunsmuir items of interest to the DUNSMUIR MUSEUM by contacting Phyllis Skalko (530) 235-0839. Monetary donations are welcome.
The Siskiyou Arts Museum strives to enrich the lives of residents and visitors to Siskiyou County through acquisition, preservation, and interpretation of the visual, literary and performing arts in order to present exhibitions and programs that will educate, strengthen, serve and sustain our community.
We are open to the public Thursday through Saturday from 11am to 4pm, and Sunday from 10am to 2pm. Please join us to experience the best in local and regional art, talent and events.
