Welcome home to Dunsmuir, California.

Fishing in Dunsmuir

You are going to love Dunsmuir. This is the place where you can walk a couple of blocks from any lodging in town to the river, where your Grandson can catch his first fish.

With the Upper Sacramento River, fondly referred to locally as the Upper Sac, running right through town, world-class fly fishing is just down the street. Dunsmuir and the Upper Sac is to fly fishing what the Louvre is to art lovers.

And after a great day of fishing, Dunsmuir knows what you love second best... great food. Some of the best restaurants between the San Francisco Bay Area and Portland are located in the little town of 2300 people.

Bring your family. While you fish, they can enjoy the adventure and discovery of an area dominated by a dramatic volcano, Mount Shasta, which is home to four distinct small towns.

Our staff at the Dunsmuir Visitor Center can help you create a family getaway that keeps everyone happily busy while giving you a taste of the slower pace that small towns are known for.
